Highlights
eGrabber Playlink description
eGrabber Playlink is a game-changing feature that allows software developers to test and validate their code without the need for physical acquisition cards and cameras. This virtual frame grabber simulates the image acquisition process, enabling developers to work independently of the machine’s physical environment.

Playlink is a standard GenTL (Generic Transport Layer) producer capable of acquiring images recorded by eGrabber Recorder from a real-world acquisition system. It allows developers to focus on the machine vision software application and its validation without worrying about the complexities of image acquisition.
eGrabber Playlink can be used free of charge within eGrabber Studio, which is a great way to learn and evaluate Playlink. A “PC4401 eGrabber Recorder and Playlink” license is required when integrating eGrabber Playlink’s API into your own software application.
Note: A “PC4401 eGrabber Recorder and Playlink” license gives access to both eGrabber Recorder and eGrabber Playlink.

eGrabber
- Extended support for GPU Direct DMA with DMA-BUF memory type
This release of eGrabber adds the support for GPU Direct DMA using DMA-BUF descriptors.
DMA‑BUF is the standard Linux mechanism for safe, efficient, zero‑copy sharing of memory buffers across drivers and processes, widely used in graphics and multimedia stacks.
Note: The DMA-BUF memory type is only supported on Linux.
- New built-in script to save/restore the GenApi configuration
The built-in script egrabber://create-restore-script.js captures the current values of the grabber features and creates a script to restore the configuration. The new script is directly available in eGrabber Studio (from the Script pane or from the Terminal)
Frame Grabbers
- Extended support for Horizontal Image Flipping
This release of eGrabber adds the support for Horizontal Image Plipping to the “2-camera, line-scan” firmware variant of PC1633 Coaxlink Quad G3 and PC1633-LH Coaxlink Quad G3 LH frame grabbers.
The horizontal image flipping function, also known as horizontal mirroring, is a process in which an image is flipped along its vertical axis. This means that the left side of the image becomes the right side and vice versa.
Memento
- New option “Reset columns to default settings”
This release of Memento includes this new menu entry to reset the memento viewer columns to their default settings (widths, font size and visibility).
- Improved performance of Memento GUI
Improved the reactivity of the viewer when the count of selected rows is high.
