Highlights
eGrabber Playlink description
eGrabber Playlink is a game-changing feature that allows software developers to test and validate their code without the need for physical acquisition cards and cameras. This virtual frame grabber simulates the image acquisition process, enabling developers to work independently of the machine’s physical environment.
Playlink is a standard GenTL (Generic Transport Layer) producer capable of acquiring images recorded by eGrabber Recorder from a real-world acquisition system. It allows developers to focus on the machine vision software application and its validation without worrying about the complexities of image acquisition.
eGrabber Playlink can be used free of charge within eGrabber Studio, which is a great way to learn and evaluate Playlink. A “PC4401 eGrabber Recorder and Playlink” license is required when integrating eGrabber Playlink’s API into your own software application.
Note: A “PC4401 eGrabber Recorder and Playlink” license gives access to both eGrabber Recorder and eGrabber Playlink.

- New Focus Indicator tool
This release of eGrabber adds a new Focus Indicator tool into the Output (display) pane. This tool calculates and displays the energy of an ROI in real time. The energy value of an image has a direct relation to the optical focus of the system: higher is the energy value of an image, sharper is the image. - Improved display performance
This release of eGrabber improves Output (display) pane performance for very large images. - Ease of use improvement
Improved Welcome Tab by showing information regarding the firmware status of each card and any connected Coaxlink CXP-12 to QSFP+ Converter:- show “Update available” next to interfaces for which there is a firmware update available for the same current variant
- show “Power-cycle needed” next to interfaces that require a power-cycle after a firmware operation
This release of eGrabber adds the ReverseY feature to the data stream. This feature allows to reverse the order of lines in the output buffer independently of the camera geometry and the value of the StripeArrangement feature.
- Improved support of multi-bank (Link-sharing) cameras
This release of eGrabber improves the support of multi-bank (Link-sharing) cameras by adding a new set of StreamControl features which make easer to create unified output buffers from two or more sub-Devices. - New “3-camera” area-scan firmware variant for Coaxlink Quad CXP-12 Value
This release of eGrabber adds the “3-camera” firmware variant for PC3623 Coaxlink Quad CXP-12 Value CoaXPress frame grabber.
The “3-camera” firmware variant allows to connect up to 3 area-scan cameras: one with 1 or 2 connections and the others with only 1 connection. - Extended support for Flat Field Correction (FFC) function
This release of eGrabber adds the Flat Field Correction (FFC) function to the “2-camera” firmware variant of PC3603 Coaxlink Quad CXP-12 frame grabber.
Flat Field Correction (FFC) is a method used to correct:- the differences of light sensitivity between the pixel sensors of a camera
- some artifacts related to the optical system (e.g., non-uniform lighting and vignetting)
- New tap configuration support for Grablink Duo
This release adds support for the 80-bit 10 taps RGB 8-bit (a.k.a. DECA_10T24B3) tap configuration.
