EasyMatrixCode is the latest in a series of library enhancements to the eVision software tools offered by Euresys. This newly enhanced 2D Data Matrix code reader significantly increases robustness of the tool in applications where noise, focus and distortion causes problems with traditional Data Matrix code readers. Such problems exist in typical applications including parcel tracking and part identification in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and mechanical industries.

EasyMatrixCode is designed to be used in highly demanding situations. It overcomes surprisingly low image quality caused by poor illumination conditions such as non-uniform contrast and under- or over-exposure. EasyMatrixCode also handles poor quality images resulting from printing or optical defects such as blurred, anisotropic and non-uniform scaled Data Matrix codes, noisy or skewed images. Moreover, the robust eVision library handles codes that are normally hard to detect due to any of the following conditions: small size, textured background, or the lower contrast marking processes such as laser or nailed.

As a fully automatic reader of 2D Data Matrix codes, it automatically locates and recognizes a symbol of any size, contrast, position and orientation in a single operation. EasyMatrixCode is rotation, flip and scale invariant (minimum cell size of 3X3 pixels). ECC200 including rectangular Matrix Codes, ECC000, ECC050, ECC080, ECC100 and ECC140 are supported.
